PNEUMATIC STANDBY SYSTEM KITS Pneumatic standby systems are highly recommended for aircraft that are flown in IFR conditions. RAPCO offers FAA-PMA and STC approved Pneumatic Standby System kits for Beechcraft Bonanza models H and newer. The system is automatically activated when it detects a failure of the aircrafts primary dry air pump. There is also a manual over ride switch for use as a backup and for preflight checks. The switch along with a circuit breaker and annunciator light are mounted on a placard on the aircrafts instrument panel. The placard measures 1 5/16” X 3 ¼”. It can be ordered in a vertical or a horizontal format to best fit your panel. When low air flow is detected by a sensor in the primary system, the standby dry air pump is immediately engaged by an electro magnetic clutch that is mounted on the engines auxiliary accessory pad. It operates as needed and draws only one amp with no radio interference. A light visually alerts you when the standby system is functioning. The kits have an average weight of 9.5 Lbs. and typical installation time is approximately 8 to 9 hours. Kits for pressure or vacuum systems are available in 12 volt or 24 volt and are configured for your particular aircraft.

Simply flip the switch to engage the electro magnetic clutch between the engine and the generator. This greatly increases generator service life and saves on expensive overhauls. The clutch kits are FAA-PMA and STC approved for Beechcraft Bonanza models 33, 35, 36, with 12 volt electrical systems, that already have the Beechcraft generator kit PN 35-0312 with the TRW P/N. 360380013-1 generator. Bonanzas with 24 volt systems require a field approval for installation. Installation time is approximately 5 hours.
